To commemorate the 130th anniversary of the erection of a monument to Croatian poet Ivan Gundulić, on June 26, 2023, the central exhibition of Dubrovnik Museums “In Memory of Gundulić: Celebration of the unveiling of a monument to Ivan Gundulić in Dubrovnik in 1893” created by Tonko Marunčićwas opened in the Rector's Palace.
Shown at the exhibition are the original silver wreaths, silken bands with laurel wreaths that were placed on the Gundulić monument during a three-day celebration of the event from June 25 to June 27, 1893, organised by the Committee for Raising a Monument to Gundulić and the Dubrovnik commune. Shown are the original photographs from the celebration, two original reliefs by Ivan Rendić, commemorative medals, picture postcards, posters, documents and congratulatory telegrams. Material loaned by the State Archives in Dubrovnik, the Dubrovnik Research Library, the Diocese of Dubrovnik, the Franciscan Friars Minor Monastery and Vladimir Šarić was also on view.
