The collection systematically reflects political life, persons and events in the Dubrovnik area in the 20th century, particularly in connection with the revolutionary labour and union movements, the National Liberation War, the post-war reconstruction and the time of the Serbian-Montenegrin aggression of 1991 and the Homeland War, recorded in more than two thousand five hundred very valuable original photographs.
As well as authentic photographs of defenders, the collection contains a large number of shots by professional and art photographers, including Pavo Urban, Milo Kovač, Miro Kerner, Božidar Gjukić, Marija Braut, Željko Šoletić and others.
The collection contains slightly fewer than six thousand photographs.
